there is potential for further investment in spunlace

Bamboo Fiber Spunlace Nonwoven is a non-woven fabric made of natural bamboo cellulose and cotton fiber. It is a breathable fiber, that absorbs and evaporates moisture rapidly. It is antibacterial, anti-mites, deodorant and anti-ultraviolet. It is soft, skin-friendly and has a good drape. It can be produced in a wide range of sizes, shapes and colors.
It is mainly used for household, beauty, and industrial wipes. It can also be used for wound application materials such as gauze, band-aids and more. It is also widely used in the leak cuff of diapers and sanitary napkins. The main advantage of spunlace nonwoven fabric is that it can be easily formed into different shapes and designs, has a low bonding temperature and has superior softness.
During production, raw materials are sprayed onto a pre-formed emulsion web with a water jet at high pressure that pierces the material and tangles it into a network of interlacing fibres. Known as spunlace, jet entangled, needled hydroentangled or hydraulic, it is one of the most popular technologies in the nonwoven industry.
The technology is suitable for a variety of substrates, including paper, polyester, cellulose and wood pulp. Currently, it is being adapted by the industry for applications such as wet and dry wipes, medical products, clothing, geotextiles, footwear and personal hygiene. The equipment is flexible and easy to operate, allowing operators to adjust production parameters to meet specific customer requirements.
Compared to air-laid nonwovens, spunlace has more of an organic feel, is softer and absorbent, and can be produced using a wider range of raw materials. It is also a cost-effective alternative to more expensive wet lay technologies such as polypropylene and cellulose. It can also be based on a range of fibre types including recycled and biodegradable.
In the future, there is potential for further investment in spunlace, especially among China’s largest nonwoven producers. Xingjian Zhongtai started its first line in June 2022 and plans to eventually operate 12 lines with 140,000 tons capacity, while Zhoukou Xingwang is preparing to add two spunlace lines.
Its available width is 3200mm and its highest speed is 450 meters per minute. It can meet the market demand of both domestic and overseas. Besides, its quality is backed by strict quality controls and testing procedures, such as EDANA, AATCC, ASTM, INDA, GB and other standard requirements. This will save customers’ production costs and bring them higher profits.
